A few months back we posted an invitation to a 90th birthday party for Aunt Wanda. Aunt Wanda is Grandpa Park's older sister. Because Mom and Dad couldn't go down for the party, because of Daddy's fall, Eva and I decided that we would go and "represent" our family.

While we were living in Utah as kids, we spent alot of time at Aunt Wanda's house. Kathy was my age, and Wendy was Eva's age, and our memories are playing at the school playground, near their house, and in their big back yard. It was nice to see cousins that we haven't seen in many years, and to see Uncle Nolan, Aunt Ruth, Aunt Nelda, and Aunt LaRee. Rhonda, Nancy, Danny, Ronald, LaDeen, Angela, and all of Aunt Wanda's family were there.

I thought I'd post a picture to prove that Eva and I didn't just go shopping, we actually went to the party. The line-up is as follows: Richard, Wendy, Deanna, Wanda, Kathy, Linda, Joyce, and Bob.

We spent the night at Jared and Mary's house in Smithfield, and they fed us and let us sleep there. We played with their kids, and enjoyed their hospitality. I was very impressed with the Halloween costumes that Mary made, they were totally cute.

Happy Anniversary

The party was fun, the cake was yummy, and almost everyone was there. Now that's the way to throw a party. We love you Mom and Dad / Grandpa and Grandma, may you have many more years together.

A Recount

Sorry about the count for the Wedding Anniversary it's still 60 years and counting but if everyone who could attend did. We would have over 158 people in attendance. Yes, I forgot to count all of the spouses (sorry Wayne). That number is really just to high for a family gathering but wouldn't it be great if we could pull it off. As a side note the menu is ham and rolls, homemade root beer, cake and homemade ice cream. It is pot luck for salads, chips, and relish trays so check with your respective parent for what you might bring. Also the 24th of July Parade in St. Anthony is at 10:00 that morning. So see the parade and come to the party!

60 Years and Counting

July 22, 1949 Dad and Mom were married in the Idaho Falls Temple.
It's time to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Please join us at a family party Saturday July 25th at 1:00
at their home in Ashton.

If everyone in the family could be there we would have over125 people in attendance. We realize that everyone can't be there but if you can please come. What a great opportunity to let them know how much we love and appreciate all they have done for us over the last 60 years. If you are not able to attend and would like to send them congrats just comment on this blog. You could also send me an e-mail (eve@smithplanet.com) and I'll print them off and put them together for them. It will be great to see everyone and catchup on what is going on.
Families are great and much of who we are is because of where we came from.

Aunt Wanda's Birthday

We wanted everyone to know about Aunt Wanda's birthday party, in October.
If you can't make it down to Salt Lake for the party, a card would probably be appreciated.

Family History Questions??

Does anyone out there know how to use the "New Family Search"

I have several corrections that need to be made, and can't figure out how to do them.

If you do, please let me know. It's my understanding that this program is not available church wide yet, but it is available in the Chicago area, I'm just checking.

Christmas 2008

One of the disadvantages of having a large family is that we tend to grow up and go our separate ways. We spend time with our own families and are lucky if we even get to see each other as siblings, at all during the holidays. If we are lucky we run into each other at the mall or place of employment (Sam's Club). This year we decided to get together and have dinner and visit. It was great, mom and dad were able to come in spite of the the weather. It was a great evening of catching up on each others families and discussing the gospel. Not the greatest picture but I think all of us have our eyes open for once. Thanks for the memory.
